I’ve seen many cool bridal cars over the years, but nothing compares to what Robert and Alyce had. Well, it wasn’t a car, it was a super cool bus. A Diamond T, made in the mid to late 1930s. We kept on referring to it as The Vengabus, and the whole day was one big party.
From the start, it was clear to me that everyone involved was extremely excited about the big day. While the boys were getting ready, I noticed Robert’s father standing at the door. So I asked him to step amongst them, and give some marital advice to his son. I expect a few funny remarks, but he shared some heart felt advice that got everyone going.
Alyce’s family had not seen the custom made Crocé & Colosimo dress she had chosen. So it was a very emotional reveal to all those who were present during the preparations. Another beautiful moment came when mum helped Alyce put on grandmother’s pearl necklace. That was Alyce’s something old.
It was a memorable day, and a memorable party with the highlights being the father’s speeches. They got a fair few laughs and summed up the joyous mood of the day.
